Tuzi already with a separate municipality status

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the approval by the Montenegrin Parliament of the draft law amending the law on Territorial Organization which opens the way to the formalization of Tuzi as a separate municipality.

This act, as a result of the coalition government agreement, fulfills a long-standing aspiration of the Albanians in Montenegro and enables them to concentrate all management and economic capacity for development.

On this occasion, we also welcome the Montenegrin government and all political factors that contributed to achieving this right for the Albanian population.

As stressed during Prime Minister’s Rama last visit to Montenegro, Tuzi by itself has the potential to create new synergies in implementing the projects envisaged by the two governments for the development of the cross-border belt.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate all Albanians in Montenegro for this achievement and rely on my conviction that they will demonstrate proper accountability to ensure the success of this new municipality” – was the message of Minister Bushati.
