The Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, Mrs. Adia Sakiqi, had the honor to present at the International Club at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the presentation “Albania – Europe’s hidden tourist destination, opportunities and challenges”.
Albania has been a hidden tourist destination for several years. In this context, the Ambassador, Mrs. Sakiqi, through her multidimensional presentation on April 9, presented a close look at Albania’s tourism development in the past, present and future.
An important part of this presentation was the views on Albania’s foreign policy and the active role that Albania plays in multilateralism, especially during the Chairmanship of the OSCE and the non-permanent country in the UNSC 2022/2023. A great focus was given to the path of reforms that Albania has undertaken in light of Albania’s EU membership and the EU membership negotiation process. Albania is a proud contributor to the NATO family and a pillar of regional stability.
This presentation was followed by a question session during which the Ambassador underlined the role that tourism plays in the external perception of a country and emphasized the impact that tourism has on economic development, as well as on EU membership. The ambassador emphasized the national priorities related to the Green Agenda and the development of the Vjosa River National Park.
