On 28 of March 2025, the Ambassador of Albania to Germany Ms. Adia Sakiqi, participated in the prestigious Leipzig Book Fair, titled ‘Words move Worlds’, engaging in enriching discussions with key figures in the literature and culture field.
The Ambassador participateded in a panel discussion on the renowned Albanian author Ismail Kadare’s novel Der Anruf (The Call), translated into German by Joachim Röhm.
During the session, Ambassador Sakiqi, Mr. Röhm, and Albanian writer Ms. Mimoza Ahmeti engaged in a discussion about the depth and impact of Kadare’s work, delving into the themes, symbolism, and remarkable narrative style that make the book a significant cultural treasure.
Ambassador Sakiqi held also talks with Dr. Gabriele Goldfuß, Head of International Cooperation for the State of Leipzig, and Ms. Alda Bardhyli, Director of the National Book and Reading Center of Albania, to emphasize the importance of cultural exchange and the promotion of Albanian literature on the global stage.
The event marked another successful step in fostering international literary collaborations and bringing the unique voice of Albanian literature to the broader European audience.”
