The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the first International Conference organized within the Prespa Forum for Dialogue which was held in Ohrid, North Macedonia.
During the panel "Women, Peace and Security - a Perspective from the Western Balkans", Minister Xhaçka summarized the situation regarding women's rights and their inclusion and empowerment in public life, while suggesting important steps to ensure reaching the objectives of this agenda.
"As an elected member of the Security Council, Albania aims to contribute to maintaining and strengthening the multilateral order by addressing global challenges and promoting peace and security. One of our priorities during the two-year term are the rights of women and girls, as we are convinced that building and maintaining peace is possible only when women are fully and equally on board. We strongly believe that women's rights and their voices are essential to human rights, democracy, security and prosperity", said the minister in her speech.
Minister Xhaçka is participating in the two-day Prespa Forum, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia.
