Visit of PM Edi Rama in Israel 23 October 2022

PM Edi Rama had a three day official visit in Israel on 23 October 2022 and met with Israel’s caretaker Prime Minister Yair Lapid, whose office said the two discussed bilateral ties and “overcoming common challenges faced by the two countries, with an emphasis on the Iranian threat,” and proposed cyber defense cooperation.
“Israel will assist as much as possible in the effort against Iran. We see this as a national interest and an historical obligation,” Lapid said.
PM Rama met as well as with the head of Israel's National Cyber Directorate, the country's main cybersecurity body.
PM Rama held an important meeting with Israel’s figurehead President Isaac Herzog and other officials.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama’s keynote remarks at the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) Jerusalem Leadership drew extensive media coverage back in Israel and in Albania.
“It is vital for us to be aligned in the fight against antisemitism,” said Prime Minister Rama.“To my mind, the biggest dangers we face are not from vandals in a Jewish cemetery, which exposes them as barbaric, but from those who look rational and rationalize antisemitism. The antisemitism that emerged from the British Labour Party a few years ago worried me more than when I hear about the vandalism of a synagogue.”
