On 11-13 May 2022, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca paid a visit to Lodz, Poland, where she participated in the 33rd Session of the FAO European Regional Conference, in which Albania was elected as Vice-Chair. This roundtable forms the most important foundation for the future of agriculture in the world, focusing on food security and the stabilization of the global market. Selected from 53 participating countries, Albania chaired the 33rd session of the FAO Regional Conference. The focus remains on the future, sustainable agriculture and increased production. In this Conference, Minister Krifca delivered a speech at the session on "sustainable nutrition chains, a practical approach to the transfer of agri-food systems for healthy diets in Europe and Central Asia".
During this visit, Minister Krifca also met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of Poland, Henryk Kowalczyk. “Poland has gone through very important agricultural development processes in the path of integration to the European Union and their valuable experience in negotiating agricultural chapters for the approximation of legislation we want to put in function of our needs. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Kowalczyk expressed that he wants to see Albania in the EU as soon as possible and that he will provide all the necessary support and expertise to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Albania”.
