On 9 October 2025, in Brussels, the Embassy of Albania in Belgium, in cooperation with ALBAN Global, hosted the inspiring event “The Next Frontier: Europe’s Borders of Innovation & Collaboration” — a gathering that brought together representatives of the European Commission, international investors, Albanian entrepreneurs, and innovation leaders from across Europe. In her remarks, Ambassador Albana Dautllari highlighted Albania’s emerging dynamism in the fields of innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship, emphasizing that the country is steadily positioning itself as a new investment hub in the Western Balkans. She invited Belgian and European partners to explore Albania’s potential for bold partnerships and projects that transcend traditional market boundaries. Representing Albania, Ms. Ledi Imeraj, Director of the Agency for Innovation and Excellence, presented the policies and programs aimed at empowering start-ups, fostering young talent, and advancing the country’s digital transformation. The main panel featured a dynamic discussion on cross-border innovation, impact investment, and the circular economy, with the participation of European experts, including Michiel Scheffer, President of the Board of the European Innovation Council (EIC). He underscored the importance of increased participation by Albanian entrepreneurs and researchers in EIC programmes, opening new avenues for European collaboration. The event concluded with a networking reception, where participants—from Brussels to Tirana—exchanged ideas, contacts, and projects that have the potential to shape the region’s innovative and sustainable future.
